Dear Teachers, Therapists, Carers & Parents
Since my youth, the bicycle has always been a large part of my life, and has shaped all of my decisions. The work I do, where I live, who my friends are, what type of exercise I do, etc.
It has taken me from a hobby to more than 20 years in the cycle business. Even to this day I look forward to my daily energetic hour of riding. A time to be alone with my thoughts. You don't have to have my background to know how important a cycle is to a young person.
For young people, the bicycle is the most important object in their lives. It's an extension in themselves Riding a bicycle is more than just fun.
For the intellectually or physically disabled, it can be the same, and more.
It doesn't matter whether the ride is on a regular two-wheeler, the back of a tandem, tricycle or on a bike with support wheels - he or she can gain those benefits.
Many people will never be able to drive a car. The bicycle can give these people independence, transportation, exercise, outdoor family group activities... and many other benefits. The fact that they have tranportation makes jobs prospect better. Many parents have indicated their desire to participate in helping their children learn to ride. Parents who have discovered the joy of cycling, await the day when their disabled child can join the rest of the family in a Sunday family bike ride
We have a GOAL - to bring the benefits and joy of cycling to ALL PEOPLE.
